Our Director

Director, Renée Pugh Smith, a Purdue graduate and former teacher, recently returned to college and secured a Master of Arts degree in Education in Curriculum & Instruction. During this pursuit she developed a keen interest in the plight of young elementary students endeavoring to meet the demands of the National Common Core Standards.

Renee is also a licensed Indiana teacher, experienced tutor and small business owner.

Our Director has served as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader, a Cub Pack officer, Sunday school teacher, Bible school teacher and director. As an Indianapolis Junior League member, Renée participated in Project LEAD during the 1987 Pan-Am Games which sponsored several students from South America to attend the games.



Renée, a volunteer for her college sorority for more than 20 years, served in various capacities identifying educational needs and developing programs to meet those needs.

A mother and grandmother, Renée enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren who live in Hamilton County.
